Postgres Connection Spikes (Selfhosted)

Hello all, deployed Cal onto Vercel but sometimes when navigating the dashboard I get "Something went wrong" error message. It appears that the connections to the Postgres db server is spiking up to meet the 20 connection limit on the free tier. It makes the app rather unuseable and also freezes up the public-facing meeting scheduling. Is this a known issue or expected behavior? My current solution is to let it cool down for a bit (assuming the connections are timing out) and then work a bit more.
