Reading tapes that contain binary responses

I encountered an issue where by my test hangs in betamax trying to play a tape that contains binary responses. The tape is originally recorded by betamax. So there's to be an issue dealing with binary data.

Unfortunately, I can't share here the tape that demonstrates this issue because it contains some private data. I will try to create a tape that shows the issue and attach it.
