The experience of swiping to change slides is not very good for lower-resolution devices - we need to do a long swipe (covering a good portion of the screen) for the swipe to be recognized. Currently, the swipe length is hardcoded to 50px.
I quickly looked for a "recommended swipe length" on the web, in hopes of finding some UX heuristic saying something like "a swipe gesture length should be X% of the screen", but I couldn't find it.
In some quick tests, I found the value of 7% of the screen width (in portrait) to be satisfactory.
Considering that, what do you think of making the length of the gesture a configurable option?
Best regards!
