The introduction of Wireless Redstone in Minecraft would mark a significant evolution in gameplay, offering players a new realm of possibilities in engineering, automation, and design. This feature request outlines the proposed integration of Wireless Redstone, aiming to enhance the creative and technical experiences within the game. Wireless Redstone will enable players to establish redstone connections without physical redstone dust lines, allowing for cleaner builds and more complex circuit designs without the clutter of traditional redstone setups. The feature should integrate smoothly with existing redstone mechanics, ensuring that players can combine both traditional and wireless redstone in their builds. Compatibility with current redstone components (like repeaters, comparators, pistons, etc.) is crucial.

How it should work

Wireless Redstone should offer an extended range compared to its wired counterparts, providing greater flexibility in building large-scale projects and enabling remote activation/deactivation of mechanisms. Players should be able to set specific frequencies or channels on their wireless redstone transmitters and receivers, preventing cross-talk between different devices and allowing for intricate, multi-faceted contraptions; An intuitive interface for configuring the wireless connections will be essential, ensuring that both novice and experienced players can utilize this feature effectively

To-do items and blocks to make

  • Wireless Transmitter Block - Would function as the source of the wireless redstone signal.
    • 16 block reach by default
  • Wireless Receiver Block - Would receive the wireless signal and activate connected devices, such as pistons, lamps, or doors
    • 16 block reach by default
  • Frequency Tuner Tool - An item used to set or change the frequency/channel on wireless transmitters and receivers to prevent interference
  • Wireless Repeater/Extender Block - This block could extend the range of the wireless signal, similar to how traditional repeaters work with redstone dust. It would be especially useful in large builds or for extending signals across vast distances
    • available upgrades to 32 and 64 block ranges
  • Wireless Redstone Hub - A block that could act as a central control panel for managing multiple wireless connections, enabling complex configurations and large-scale wireless redstone networks
    • Basic, controls a number of connections
    • Advanced, two-block length terminal like a chest, controls more connections
  • Charged Redstone Crystal - A new item that might be required as a crafting ingredient for wireless redstone components. It could be a rare resource, adding a level of challenge to obtaining wireless redstone technology
  • Redstone Infuser - A block or tool used to combine traditional redstone with other materials (possibly the Charged Redstone Crystal) to create the wireless redstone components, adding a layer of progression to the feature.
    • Wireless Buttons
    • Wireless Levers
    • Wireless Rail Activator
    • Wireless Rail Detector
    • Wireless Pressure Plates
    • Wireless Redstone Lamp
  • Signal Jammer - A specialized block that can block wireless signals within a certain radius, useful for creating secure areas, as a countermeasure in multiplayer scenarios, or a complex redstone mechanic.
