On the latest build (01/09/2016), when VCC is in full screen mode, if you hit the "Windows" key (start menu), VCC will crash. It should go back to default size OR just minimize. It tries to stay on screen with the windows startbar and start menu....

Actually, there's always been little problems with fullscreen mode on any machine that went beyond directx 9 & WinXP (Vista, 7, 8, 10). The qicker we can phase out directx, the better.

I have now noticed a lot of strange things going on whether in full screen or windowed. Any time Windows changes graphics mode settings, VCC either crashes or goes "black screen" with no response. I'm pretty sure there's a way to preserve VCC's graphics mode while the focus is on another window. This doesn't seem to happen when opening "normal" windows, like "notepad", "wordpad", or an internet browser (unless it plays video, then crash). It seems to involve anything using directx.

Bill - same thing happens in a linux-wine enviroment. Crashes on sometimes on video mode transition.

alt-tab while in full screen mode can actually crash windows. Stop gap would be to disable alt-tab while in full screen mode. Work around is just don't do it. Switch to windowed mode first.

I think these issues are related to DirectX incompatability with video cards. Typically the crashes are access violations caused by screen resolution changes. If I get crash details with a known VCC version I can usually can find the offending code and add bounds checks to prevent the crash. This particular issue may have already been fixed with one of the patches I made in the last couple of years.
