Currently all emojis are listed in a large scrollable list so finding a specific emoji is a very tedious process. If the emojis were grouped in tabs, it would minimize the headache of finding a specific emoji.
For reference, FlorisBoard provides the following UI:
Also what would be ideal is a search facility. There are datasets available that provide emoji names and sometimes keywords for each emoji available. By tapping into these datasets. you could add a Search Emojis tab (as the last tab in the list) that produces a list of emojis that match the user input, e.g. hea should show all heart emojis (❤️ ♥💕😘...) along with emojis relating to health (🥬🥕🥦💊) -- of course this depends on what the emoji dataset provides in terms of keywords.
I don't think this has been requested yet but feel free to link me to an existing feature request if it has.
