  1. Can we get the schema of the database, a diagram? -> Done, asked Ken.
  2. How big is the whole data set? -> Done.
  3. Is it possible that we have a restricted user access account that can read just the non-sensitive data but sufficient for general purpose analysis with anonymous data?
Answer: We will get sample data from MP to load into our own Agency instance. Can start with that for now.
  4. Alternatively, is it possible a view with denormalized data (minus the sensitive data) could be created and be accessible to us?

  1. What kind of KPIs do you need to visualize? For some ideas from Kristin and me see Google Drive presentation: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fwjwWNXVrl7aC6dkoC3J_mkIJ9Zf8E36kQ-bsVm2Ln4/edit#slide=id.g1f08a3810e_0_5
Answer: See 04/11/2017 meeting notes Matt: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B06hkpG0Km58TU9wc1I0YU9rUWM
  2. How much budget do you have for software maintenance, licenses, etc.
Answer: We did not get an exact number yet. They have some costs and might be able to give us a ball park number.
  3. Who will be using the visualization dashboard?
Matt: Open Visualization Requests section (Starting slide 7): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1fwjwWNXVrl7aC6dkoC3J_mkIJ9Zf8E36kQ-bsVm2Ln4/edit#slide=id.g1d6eb6fdc0_0_27
  4. How often do you need to change the visualizations?
Matt: Not known at this time. The ideal solution would involve us training the MP team so that they can make minor adjustments to the views.

I mentioned this on the Slack channel but I think questions 6-8 roll into a larger conversation about what their vision is for the future of our work. Is it something that we can just create and leave or will we need to train and support people in maintaining it?
Answer: Might need to revisit this point in another meeting. MP stressed that sustainability is important to them and they would like to have a solution that provides what they need incl. the capability of creation of new dashboards with only small to no maintenance or programming effort. Thinking of self-service.

Added a couple of answers to the questions based on meeting with MP on 04/11/2017. I think questions 1. + 2. are good candidates to be added to the questions for Ken.

A few more questions from my side:

  • Current hardware used
  • How often is hardware replaced (typically)?
  • Current software used (e.g. is Office available)

  • How accurate is the exit information
  • What are they trying to show with the data?
  • What is the metrics they are graded on?
  • Tracking how many people they turn away?
  • Unite data bases?
