Godiva3 in TDS 5.0.0-alpha3 isn't displaying the default base layer, showing a background of pink tiles with broken link icons.

I tried the test in #90 (comment) , that is, whether the http://godiva.reading.ac.uk/geoserver/ReSC/wms?LAYERS=naturalearth&FORMAT=image%2Fpng&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&STYLES=&SRS=EPSG%3A4326&BBOX=-180,-90,180,90&WIDTH=1024&HEIGHT=512 link works.

It doesn't seem to work right now. Do you have any workarounds?

There have been quite a lot of IT issues at the university over the last couple of days, so that server is not working at the moment. Hopefully it'll be back up again soon. In the meantime, the workaround is to pick a different background map.

From https://reading-escience-centre.gitbooks.io/ncwms-user-guide/content/03-config.html#server it suggests you choose different background maps in a godiva3.properties file.

Is this something that should be accessible in a TDS install somewhere? Or is that up to the TDS folks?

I can't recall how Godiva3 is integrated into TDS. But you don't necessarily need to add any more background maps, just choose a different one in the layer selector. The first two, and all of the polar stereographic ones are hosted at Reading, all of the others are not and were all working when I checked earlier.

Ah -- I see, in the upper RH corner of the Godiva interface is a '+' sign that pops up menu of base maps. Thanks.
