Cozy should have a status message. It currently looks out of place in the member's list compared to all the other bots:

There are two options that I can think of:

  • Have a single message, e.g. Watching over Quilt
  • Have a list of messages that are randomly cycled through, for example:
    • Watching over Quilt
    • Playing Minecraft
    • etc.

The second option could be more fun and interesting, so that one has my personal vote.

The second option also, to my knowledge, is forbidden by Discord.
At least, that's what I've been told in the bot development communities I've been in. (They also mentioned countermeasures like status updating being blocked if you do them too frequently)
I'd recommend against doing so.

its if you do it too often. something like every 24hrs is probably ok.

It's okay once you don't overdo it - there's plenty of bots that cycle infrequently

Think we could probably easily get away with ~3 hour cycle times based on what I've seen from other bots

I think you need to have it cycle less frequently for novelty's sake, if you have 10 messages and cycle every 3 hours, you're going to cycle through them all in just over a day.

24h sounds like a nice number to me.

Ok, could go for one every 24 or 12 hours 👍

Maybe we start collecting suggestions on this issue?

A fun idea could be cozy lore :yeef:, like the messages tell a story

We need to collect suggestions for this before it can be implemented. Let's start doing that.

Some probably more controversial than others, but I figured I'd send all my ideas here

  • Watching over the gays
  • Playing Minecraft
  • Watching over Quilt
  • Listening to the Gradle demon
  • Playing survival test
  • Listing to "Quilting 101"
  • Playing Minceraft
  • Watching gay pride
  • Listening to the infinite genders
  • Watching the infinite pronouns

Edit: removed "Playing at being queer" because of how it can be perceived. I will update the comment if I find better wording later.

Reminder that status must start with "Watching", "Playing" or "Listening"

I'm pretty sure 'Competing in ...' is possible for bots?

The Streaming status is also valid, provided you give Discord a valid Twitch, or maybe now YouTube, URI.

My suggestions:
Playing Minecraft
Playing with your commands
Watching the error log
Watching myself crash

idk what else lol

Can you do Playing/Watching/Listening on its own? Having that as a possible option would be funny
