SD partition not mounted #31

Thanks ItachiSan. That is what I expected I'd have to do. I suppose it is more likely to work if I use CWM to format the SD card, rather than doing it from the PC. |
3 days ago! and still no nearer. I have been struggling to get into clockworkmod. It seems the one I used got lost when I flashed the new ROM (CM9 ICS). I don't want to trash the current system in case I'm not happy with the new one, but can't back it up without trashing it to put CWM back on. Catch22? Baby steps, as I don't really have a clue what I'm doing. I will now try Linux instead of WindowsXP and see if I can get any further with that. |
OK, I've sorted it! Following the guide here (in WindowsXP!): Well, the penny dropped then. I am running CyanogenMod9 IceCreamSandwich. Under Settings: Developer options: there is an entry "Root access". This was set to "Apps only" and that was the cause of my problems. I didn't have su rights to the system. Simply changed in there and suddenly everything works. ADB showed me the way! Maybe this feature was added in ICS, and wasn't there in Gingerbread? Could be the reason others using CM9 have been having trouble. |
Going back to the original post - it seems that the partition set up by GParted would not be recognised anyway. Whether this is due to the label or the partition boundary I don't know, but I have made things work by using the partitioning software in ClockworkMod. This gives the option of SDext to be 1GB, 2GB etc. It now gets recognised by the system. |
Hi, I'm using a T-Mobile Vivacity (ZTE Crescent) with CyanoGenMod9 (ICS) latest version P736E ROM (13/07/2012).
I created a 1.3GB ext3 partition on my SD card using GParted.
When I try to run S2E I get all greyed out, and the log says this:
[quote]
Initialization...
Ext partition found: /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

Use built-in e2fsck
Setup read_ahead value
Start mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 as ext4

So what might I have done wrong please? Should I have made the partition ext4 type?* I do not want to use CWM to format the SD card and lose my current apps and data (I have app2sd). I have only 16MB left and need the space!
What should I do now?
Many thanks if you can help me.
EDIT *Tried ext4 and still the same result. Also uninstalled google maps to give more space, still same result. Is the problem because I have darktremors a2sd integrated in the ROM?
