Describe the error

In the beginning of the "OG1.0 General conventions" section, it is mentioned that the OG1.0 format use netCDF with a note at the end of the document stating that "NetCDF-3 does not satisfy the requirements of OG1.0 format". I'm wondering if this is true. I think that the current version of OG1.0 shall be representable with netCDF3 classic. Am I wrong? Am I missing something?

For instance, I generated a netCDF classic format available by means of the BODC's ERDDAP from an original netCDF in OG1.0 expressed in netCDF4. ERDDAP dataset: link
Potential solution

Amend the related note at the end to state that netCDF3 is also supported.
