One possibility for the initial autosuggestions would be a hierarchical menu where you could select between Majors, States, etc. and then get further nested dropdowns. This would be an alternative to just searching directly, which you could still do as normal. Due to limitations in the dropdown library, it is unlikely that this will be implemented anytime soon.
