Hi,
Apologies if the structure of the issue is wrong.
I tried to sign-up, got an error but wasn't able to proceed as the checkbox wasn't there anymore?

To replicate, just try to use the modal to signup.

Thank you for reporting. I cannot reproduce yet. Tested in:

I changed the color levels in your screenshot and if the box is there, its color is 100% identical to the background

Clicking the text activates the checkbox normally. Do you see a checkmark after clicking the text?

What you can do:

  • Tell us what browser you use
  • Use incognito mode and see if the issue remains and report (extensions might still be active in incognito though if configured to do so)
  • Disable each extension or userstyle/userscript that affects freesound one by one and test with it being off. Report the offender once you identify it so we can try to reproduce the issue and suggest a change to avoid it for freesound if possible.
  • Open dev tools of the browser (usually by pressing F12) and report errors in the "Console" (usually at the bottom).

Thank you for responding,

  1. I am using edge, i tried to join using incognito without any extensions, the result is same.
  2. The checkbox doesn't come up even after pressing the label text.
  3. Only thing that looks like an error to me is this:

I was able to signup by changing the html attribute directly.

Thank you for reporting back.

I tested on Edge Version 125.0.2535.92 (Official build) (64-bit) and could not reproduce the issue. After installing uBlock Origin the checkbox still was there.

I found a some stack discussions about the error but it seems their goal is to get/send JSON.

Speculations:

Speculative suggestions:

  • Test using a different internet connection. For example by using USB or wifi tethering into phone's mobile data or a public wifi (if on a laptop).
  • Restart the computer and test.
  • Update Windows and Edge and restart the computer and test.
  • [edit: verify none of the extensions is enabled in incognito mode]

Hopefully this is of any use if you're willing to test some more or if someone else encounters the problem and find this.
