Hey I was wondering if there was any way to toggle seeing the aqueducts and hiding them. It definitely fits the roman theme but can get in the way of seeing your sitting running especially on tighter maps like Lugdunum. It would be nice to be able to see them but hide, or lower (mark like path but different colour or image. I know you can hide it when you use the roads view but them the buildings aren't visible so being able to hide them can let you see the city better without having to constantly change the camera angles. Perhaps in the side bar as a button? If this is already in the game and i'm missing it, please disregard this part and let me know where I can find it.
Secondly, It would be a really helpful to be able to construct stairs in the rock cliffs. In cases like the map Lugdunum, Romans would make the stairs usually with Engineers. You could make it quite costly, require a engineers guild (sort of like the architect guild), require work camps and take a fair amount of time. You could also tie in an engineer guild that would require a military barracks since Roman engineers were actually part of the army. It could also require certain building materials, perhaps architect or carpenter guilds, work camps and completed in phases (1st phase pedestrian only maybe?) and completed in phases similar to way you construct temples and monuments.
You could also make the stairs have a larger (what you usually see on the maps if present currently, and a smaller cheaper version (sort of the same way you did with palisade and watch towers vs stone walls, etc). The cheaper version could have a restriction that it could only be used by walkers/pedestrian and no carts etc could be used on the smaller version. A lot of maps have areas that can't be reached but take up a lot of the map. (again example of lugdunum map).
Last (though I think I mentioned it in a previous ideas post, would be make the ability to bridge over earthquake lines, similar to bridge over water. You could also make this with a cheaper and more expensive versions. With cheaper as foot path only in wood and stone allows carts. It could require the engineer guild and barracks, also work camp and materials. You could make it expensive to build and take a certain amount of time.
All these ideas would give great quality of life benefits but come with steep prices, time, resources and manpower. Thus they would be something the player would have to make a conscious choice to do and thus not invalidate the difficulty of the maps and missions.
