draftLocation doesn't work, backup failed error

I absolutely love this app, but this one behavior is making me miserable.
There's no GUI way to set the directory where ghostwriter saves drafts. Through viewing the source code, it looked to me like setting the "draftLocation" value in the config file should handle it. But doing that changes nothing. ghostwriter creates its drafts files in my home directory and I really don't like this. But I can't change this, it doesn't work.
Also if backup is enabled, I get an error popup saying it fails, and I don't understand why either.
