This might be more of a feature request in stead of an issue...but can SitecorePackageDeployer also be used to install .zip files created with the Sitecore package designer (content packages) or downloaded from Sitecore market place? Or should I use another tool for that?

Greetings,
Martijn

Hi Martijn,
That is something that could be added as a feature. We don't plan on addressing it anytime soon though. I recommend that you look at Sitecore.Ship by Kevin Obee (https://github.com/kevinobee/Sitecore.Ship) I think it does both.

Thanks

Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I'd really like this feature as well!

Thanks,
Patrick

If I understand correctly SitecoreShip requires to do http requests for package installation. I would like a more automatic approach and easy deployment (which SitecorePackageDeployer provider). Maybe I will make a fork and implement this myself

Hi Martijn,
You are correct about Ship. We also ran into problem executing post steps after the AppPool recycled with Ship. I would love to see your implementation when it is complete.

Thanks!

Charlie
