patching::update generates error when run on Windows Server 2008 R2

Whenever I try to run updates on a 2008 R2 server using patching::update or patching::update_windows, I get the following error.

@rychannel I don't have a Windows 2008 box to test with, can you see if you can reproduce it? Also, anything in the logs in C:\ProgramData\patching\logs?
