Latest ESMValTool 2.4.0 on JASMIN

hey guys, just a heads up I have now installed the latest ESMValTool (2.4 with ESMValCore 2.4) on JASMIN, and as usual, it is available by module loading module load esmvaltool (full install log here ). Happy esmvaltooling about on JASMIN 🍺

using esmval in JASMIN is like using google earth engine on google?
i mean can do anything with esmval that installed in JASMIN?

Yes, I have read about ESMval. Part of my thesis work is using ESMval.

I mean, can ESMval be used online and not installed?

Google Earth Engine does not require installation and used online.

no unfortunately we don't have a web-based deployment yet, you will have to install ESMValTool - but if you are on JASMIN you can just use the already installed module by loading it with module load esmvaltool - and just use it from the command line; if you would like to start developing ESMValTool, in that case you'll have to install your own copy so you can add diagnostics or other functionalities 👍

My problem is that I have to install it on Linux

In one of the comments, I saw that you wrote that you can install Linux on Windows from Virtual Mode.

But the point is, I'm going to get into trouble in the future because of errors that Linux is not real.

@seyedmohammad19 my apologies, I have been working on other things this week - your question evaded my wits. If you install Linux in a Virtual Box in Windows (see https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads) then you will have a fully functional Linux machine inside the virtual box, with absolutely all the functionalities needed for UNIX/Linux operations, so no worries about ESMValTool - it'll work perfectly fine!
