DepoCuration 1: Efo Trait Data Management

Must have

• Curators need to be able to efficiently assign one or more terms to studies, and review these in a human readable format before submission is completed. Currently in deposition, EFO URIs can be entered into the template but there is no way to check the corresponding term name.
• Curators need to be able to do this efficiently for all studies of a publication/in bulk
• Curators need to be able to assign main and background EFO terms to studies

Should have (before curation app is retired)

• Curators need to be able to search for existing (in GWAS db) EFO terms, based on a text string
• Curators need to be able to add EFO terms to studies efficiently for single studies.
• If no appropriate EFO terms exist, curators need to be able to import new ones from EFO. This functionality exists in curation but requires improvement. Import from EFO should have appropriate QC in place. Curators need to do this efficiently in bulk and for individual terms.

Could have

• Curators need to be able to check pre-existing reported trait to EFO mapping (OntoString does this)
• EFO terms that have been imported should be updated when something changes in EFO (eg term name)
