This is the primary deliverable desired by EcoAction that will be used to identify civic associations and block groups that best fit their desired criteria for offering free trees.

This deliverable should meet the following criteria:

  • work for civic associations and block groups (separately)
  • use a thresholding mechanism, where the top n areas preferred for each input (demographics, trees planted, canopy cover) can be set and modified by EcoAction
  • include the following inputs:
    • poverty
    • non-white race (as group)
    • hispanic
    • trees planted previously
    • open plantable land (tree canopy + plantable land)
    • heat index (when available)

Static maps showing civic associations/block groups that meet all thresholding criteria are also desired.

There is a google sheet on the drive under Deliverables -> Deliverable3 with civic association data and another with block group level data. A user can select the top n geographical units for various indices and see a) which geographical units fall into top n groups and b) the ranking of how many top n groups each unit falls into.
