Ask GBIF if those are useful for the backbone and ask UNITE if having at least a kingdom is possible

Looks like many if not all have a classification in UNITE which does not map to COL at all, e.g.

kingdom: Alveolata Cavalier-Smith >unranked: SH0000009.10FU

The classification of UNITE has +24 additional kingdoms, we could add them to the patch but I think it requires further thinking. Something to discuss on the next meeting

Alveolata Cavalier-Smith [kingdom]
Amoebozoa [kingdom]
Apusozoa [kingdom]
Choanoflagellozoa [kingdom]
Cryptista [kingdom]
Euglenozoa [kingdom]
Eukaryota kgd Incertae sedis [kingdom]
Filasteriae [kingdom]
Fornicata [kingdom]
Fungi R.T.Moore [kingdom]
Glaucocystoplantae [kingdom]
Haptista [kingdom]
Heterolobosa [kingdom]
Ichthyosporia [kingdom]
Metazoa Haeckel [kingdom] / Animalia
Nucleariae [kingdom]
Parabasalia [kingdom]
Picozoa Seenivasan Sausen Medlin & Melkonian [kingdom]
Planomonada [kingdom]
Protista [kingdom]
Rhizaria [kingdom]
Rhodoplantae [kingdom]
Stramenopila [kingdom]
Telonemae [kingdom]

we definitely do not want 24 more accepted kingdoms. If we add any then just as synonyms for existing taxa.
But yes, it should be good to talk with someone about this. @thomasstjerne @tobiasgf any idea why there are so many kingdoms in UNITE?

You can place quite a few already, e.g. Viridiplantae could be just mapped to Plantae. More than half of them seem to be Chromista/Protista/Algae related
