Reported by AdirBlaz on Reddit, quoting:

I seem to have come across an odd issue. It's minor thankfully, but it still bugs me a bit. I once opened the configuration to find that I can set TiMidity's port. I set it from 0 0 to 1 1, and I suddenly had music. Though this music seems to have lasted only for one game, until I saved and quit. Now, no matter what port I set the midi soundtrack option to, no music will play.

I happened across a solution. Basically change the game's midi soundtrack port before you quit or restart it. Say, TiMidity port 0 0, then change that to 1 1.... magically the music works, but sound doesn't work while music plays!

I'm running version 0.58 on Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS
