As suggested in #36, a comments section would be good on the posts. I know that Staticman provides comments for static websites and there are probably others too.

Authors should be able to choose if they want comments or not. This would be specified in the front matter and be false by default.

trying to get comments in using Staticman but running into an issue similar to one discussed here: eduardoboucas/staticman#227

solution includes https://www.flyinggrizzly.net/2017/12/setting-up-staticman-server/ OR using some other comment service, like Disqus? Thoughts? :)

Ah ok, setting up a staticman server might be a good option to go down. Do you want to see if you can get it working locally using Heroku free tier? The guide you've linked looks good for getting it running. Let me know if you hit any problems,

Not a huge fan of Disqus because of the ads and the tracking they add to the site.

Hi, this is the author of Beautiful Hugo's Staticman nested comments support halogenica/beautifulhugo#222. I've made d4df9403a8f0f423db72f6f2faa41b1011890158 in Staticman's repo.

Staticman is much better than Disqus in terms of SEO and load speed.

The linked Staticman issue can be circumvented if the Git repo in hosted on GitLab.
