Support for Markdown Files with GitHub Copilot

Description

I would like to know if it's possible to configure GitHub Copilot to also support Markdown (.md) files.

Motivation

As a user who frequently writes documentation and other text-based content in Markdown, having Copilot assist in generating and refining Markdown content would be incredibly beneficial. The autocomplete and suggestion features of Copilot could significantly enhance productivity and improve the quality of written documentation.
